RUMOR, SEBASTIANO. – Priest, brother of the preceding, man of letters, bibliographer, and historian, born in Vicenza on 30 May 1862, died in Jerusalem on 17 June 1929.
For a long time director of the Biblioteca Bertoliana in Vicenza, he devoted himself especially to illustrating events, memories, and figures of his city, leaving numerous publications of considerable importance, including a Storia del santuario mariano di Monte Berico, a copious Dizionario degli scrittori vicentini dell'Ottocento, and a biography of Antonio Fogazzaro, of whom he was a friend and intimate. He also composed two novels, one of which, Via smarrita, was honored with a preface by Fogazzaro himself. He died while on pilgrimage in the Holy Land.
