RUMOR, SEBASTIANO. – Priest, brother of the preceding, man of letters, bibliographer, and historian, b. in Vicenza on 30 May 1862, d. in Jerusalem on 17 June 1929.
For a long time director of the Biblioteca Bertoliana of Vicenza, he devoted himself especially to illustrating the events, memories, and personalities of his city. He left numerous publications of considerable importance, including a Storia del santuario mariano di Monte Berico, a copious Dizionario degli scrittori vicentini dell'Ottocento, and a biography of Antonio Fogazzaro, of whom he was a friend and close associate. He also composed two novels, one of which, Via smarrita, had the honor of a preface by Fogazzaro himself. He died while on pilgrimage in the Holy Land.
