Giacomo FEDERICI. — Bolognese doctor and professor of theology and law, died in Trieste in 1888. 1952.
In his *Tractatus de electione et potestate praefatorum et aliorum officiarium regularium* (Bologna 1625), he gathered all theological and juridical material, as well as the decisions of the Sacred Roman Rota on this subject. Having become a Capuchin friar, he obtained from Urban VIII permission to republish the work (Bologna 1626 and Milan 1628) under the religious name Sigismondo da Bologna. However, his superiors on 30 April 1628 disapproved of some of his interpretations regarding legislation and the practice of the Order. He was a preacher and jurist.
