FELIX (Fink), Felix of Antwerp. - Capuchin missionary and writer of the province of Belgium, b. at Antwerp on 11 Jan. 1868, entered the novitiate on 13 May 1886, departed for the mission of Punjab (India) in May 1889, ordainedpriest on 26 Apr. 1891, d. at Maryabad on 29 March 1932.
He devoted himself above all to the conversion and the social elevation of the poor populations known as "pariahs"; on his own initiative, having obtained vast tracts of land from the English government, he established there villages or colonies of neo-Christian families, such as Maryabad, Khuspur (1900), Lyallpur (1908), Mongomery (1914), Rahimpur (1921). He was apostolic administrator of the apostolic prefecture of Bettiah (Bihar, 1916-21); on 21 July 1927 he was appointed superior of the mission of Punjab. By order of his major superiors, he collected numerous documents concerning Bishop Anastasius Hartmann, which he delivered in 1908 to the S. Congregation of Rites. He attended with fruit to the search for documents and to the historical study of the missions of the Capuchins and the Jesuits in India; he wrote valuable articles and monographs.
