Ferrer, Vincenzo

FERRER, VINCENZO. - Dominican philosopher and theologian, b. near Trahiguera (Catalonia) on 21 July 1675, d. at Albalata della Sorella (near Valencia) on 22 Apr. 1738. He was professor of moral philosophy and then for many years of theology at the University of Valencia.

He wrote: Epitome cursus theologici ad mentem D. Thomae doctoris Angelici, complectens controversiae omnes quae hac tempestate exogitari solent in scholis (I, Valencia 1720, 2nd ed. ibid. 1724; II, ibid. 1725; III, ibid. 1728; IV, ibid. 1730); Opusculum theologicum de conscientia (ibid. 1725); Summa moral para examen de curas y confessores (ibid. 1736, subsequently many editions).
