ETOURNEAU, THOMAS. - Preacher and lecturer, b. in Nantes on 19 July 1853, d. at La Chapelle-Basse-Mer on 30 July 1908. A Dominican from 1875. A famous orator, he preached and gave lectures in various cities of France and Belgium. For 4 years (1898-1902) he preached at Notre-Dame in Paris, developing the great themes of dogmatics and Catholic apologetics: God, Providence, evil. He published these lectures of his: Les grandes nations du catholicisme, Paris 1898-1902.
