ETOURNEAU, THOMAS. — Preacher and lecturer, born in Nantes on 19 July 1853, died at La Chapelle-Basse-Mer on 30 July 1908. A Dominican from 1875. A famous orator, he preached and gave lectures in various cities of France and Belgium. For four years (1898–1902) he preached at Notre-Dame in Paris, developing the great themes of Catholic dogmatics and apologetics: God, Providence, and evil. He published these lectures: Les grandes nations du catholicisme, Paris 1898–1902.
