FRANCISCUS de ALBANO (Vercellensis). — Canon lawyer, born in Vercelli in the first half of the 13th century. No certain information about his life is available; he nevertheless appears to have lived in southern France and to have been a professor at Avignon. He is also said to have taken part in the Council of Lyons of 1274; a commentary on the constitutions promulgated by Gregory X at that Council remains by him.
