GALLANDI (GALLAND), ANDREA. – Oratorian, born on 7 December 1709 in Venice, died there on 12 January 1779. Editor of the Bibliotheca Graeco-Latina veterum Patrum (14 vols. in-fol., Venice 1765–81, 2nd ed. there 1788; Index, Bologna 1863), a collection of ecclesiastical writings from the first twelve centuries, valued for its notes. He also published a collection of texts by famous canonists: De vetustis canonum collectionibus (Venice 1778, Mainz 1786).
