GALVANUS de BETTINO, of Bologna. — Canonist of the 14th century.
Few are the details known about his life: from 1365 to 1368 he taught in Padua; he was then summoned by Bishop Guglielmo to Pécs in Hungary to lend distinction to the newly established canon law school there; by 1374 he was already in Bologna as professor of the Decretals, summoned by Gregory XI. He certainly died after 1386.
He wrote: *De differentiis legum et canorum*; *Casus, qui indicis arbitrio velinguntur*; *Contrarietates glossorum iuris canonici*; *Repetitiones*; *De decimis*. Most of these works remain unpublished.
