GIOVANNI di CARPATO. – Probably a bishop in the 7th century. A collection of Capita hortatoria for the monks in India is attributed to him (PG 85, 1837–60). Another collection, likewise attributed to him, is not his work. His spirituality reflects the influence of Massimo il Confessore.
