GIOVANNI of CARPATO. – Probably an old man in the 7th century. A collection of Capita hortatoria for monks in India is attributed to him (PG 85, 1837-60). Another collection, also attributed to him, is not his work. His spirituality shows the influence of Maximus the Confessor.
