GUGLIELMO di MELITONE. – The fourth Franciscan master of theology in Paris. He succeeded Odo Rigaldi in the chair in 1248. He was subsequently a master at Cambridge, and in 1256 Alexander IV commissioned him to complete the Summa of Alessandro di Hales, but death (1257) overtook him before he could complete this work.
His writings (Commentaries on Scripture and QQ. de Sacramentis) are still unpublished, except for a Tractatus super Missam (edited by W. Lampen, Quaracchi 1931).
