HUEJUTLA. - City and diocese in the State of Puebla (Mexico), erected on 24 November 1922 by Pope Pius XI with the apostolic constitution Inter negotia, by separating territory from the dioceses of Tulancingo and San Luis Potosí. It is a suffragan of Puebla. The diocese covers 22,000 sq km with 350,000 inhabitants, of whom 332,500 are Catholic. It has 26 parishes, served by 15 diocesan priests and one seminary (1949).
