ILARIO DI SEXTEN

ILARIO of Sexten. — Capuchin, born H. Gatterer, moral theologian, born at Sexten on 15 Dec. 1839, died at Merano on 20 Oct. 1899. He entered the religious order in 1858 and, after being ordained priest in 1862, following a period of pastoral ministry he became professor of moral theology and for three years provincial of the Order in the Tyrol.

He composed a Compendium theologiae moralis iuxta probatissimos auctores ad usum confratrum theologorum tertii anni (2 vols., Merano 1889). Other works: De Sacramentis (pastoral treatise, ibid. 1895); De censuris et irregularitatibus (Mainz 1898), etc.
