IMMENSE CAELI CONDITOR

« IMMENSE CAELI CONDITOR ». - Hymn of Vespers on Monday, belonging to the Irish-Anglo-Saxon group.

The inspiration from the second day of Creation, with the separation of the earth from the waters, is so present here that one might almost read the very words of Genesis. From this, a swift transition to the plea for Grace so as not to fall into sin and for light to distinguish truth from error.
