« IMMENSE CAELI CONDITOR ». – Hymn of Vespers on Monday, belonging to the Irish Anglo-Saxon group.
The inspiration drawn from the second day of creation, with the division of the earth from the waters, is so strongly present that one seems almost to be reading the very words of the Genesi. From this there is a rapid transition to the request for Grace, so as not to fall into sin, and for light to distinguish truth from error.
