LA BOUILLERIE, FRANÇOIS-ALEXANDRE ROULET DE

ROULET DE LA BOUILLERIE, FRANÇOIS-ALEXANDRE. - Ascetical writer, born in Paris on 1 March 1810, died in Bordeaux on 8 July 1882. Spiritual director at the minor seminary, vicar general of Paris, and later vicar capitular at the death of Monsignor Affres, he became Bishop of Carcassonne in 1855, then coadjutor with right of succession to the Archbishop of Bordeaux (1873).

He left many writings, including: *Méditations sur l'Eucharistie* (Paris 1852); *Etudes sur le symbolisme de la nature, interprété d'après l'Ecriture Sainte et les Pères* (2 vols., 1884); *Le Cantique des Cantiques appliqué à l'Eucharistie* (1885); *L'homme, sa nature, son âme, ses facultés et sa fin* (1887).
