LUPI, IGNAZIO, DETTO DA BERGAMO

LUPI, IGNATIUS, called of BERGAMO — Canonist, b. 10 Feb 1585, entered the Reformed Franciscans on 11 Feb 1603, d. at Bergamo on 6 Oct 1659. He taught theology; he was definitor and custos of his province.

Consultor of the Inquisition, he specialized in the study of censures and reserved cases, writing the following works: Commentaria in censura et casus reservatos dioecesis Bergomi (Bergamo 1636); Commentaria in excommunicationi censurares reservatae (ibid. 1637); Mistica teologia taught by Jesus Christ with His internal touches (ibid. 1659); Nova lux in edictum S. Inquisitionis ad praxim sacramenti Poenitentiae (ibid. 1659); De casibus et censuris reservatis tam in genere quam in specie (ibid. 1681).
