LUPI, IGNAZIO, known as da BERGAMO - Canonist, b. 10 Feb. 1585; entered the Reformed Friars Minor on 11 Feb. 1603; d. at Bergamo on 6 Oct. 1659. He taught theology; he was definitor and custos of his province.
A consultor of the Inquisition, he specialized in the study of censures and reserved cases, writing the following works: Commentaria in censuras et casus reservatos dioecesis Bergomi (Bergamo 1636); Commentaria in excommunicationis censuram reservatae (ibid. 1637); Teologia mistica insegnata da Gesù Cristo co' suoi interni tocchi (ibid. 1659); Nova lux in edictum S. Inquisitionis ad praxim sacramenti Poenitentiae (ibid. 1659); De casibus et censuris reservatis tam in genere quam in specie (ibid. 1681).
