LUPUS. — In the arcosolium of Celerina, in the cemetery of Pretestato, Susanna is depicted as a sheep between two wolves, identified as the elders. The allusion to innocence and faith assailed by enemies is evident, in accordance with the Lord’s warning to His disciples (Mt 10:16; Lk 10:3).
