MARZIALE di SAN GIOVANNI BATTISTA. - French Discalced Carmelite bibliographer, in the world Jean Lacombe, b. c. 1666 at Tulle, d. 1 June 1736 at Bordeaux. A learned religious and of exemplary life, he held in his Order the offices of professor, prior in various convents, definitor, and provincial of the province of Aquitania.
He rendered great service to his Order and to ecclesiastical scholarship with his Bibliotheca scriptorum utritusque Congregationis et sexus Carmelitarum Excalceatorum (Bordeaux 1730), upon which subsequent bibliographers depend.
