MIROCLE, saint. — He was already bishop of Milan in 313 when he took part in the Roman Synod, held under Pope Miltiades, to settle the Donatist controversy; the following year he participated in the Council of Arles for the same purpose. He governed the Church of Milan for 22 years and was buried in the church of S. Vittore. The true dies natalis is 30 November, but the liturgical commemoration is held on 3 December. S. Ambrose and s. Epiphanius praise his virtues and his zeal for the faith.
