NEONE, Omean bishop of SELEUCIA. — He was already a bishop in 359, since in that year he took part in the Council held in his episcopal city.
Having become aware of the machinations of the Acacians, he wrote, together with other bishops, a letter to the delegates of the Council of Rimini to warn them against the danger of the Anomean doctrine imposed by Constantius II, but he was not heeded. At the Synod of Constantinople (360), he was deposed and exiled on the accusation that he had allowed Annianus, bishop of Antioch, to be consecrated in his church, and that he himself had consecrated as bishops certain decurions who were ignorant of the Holy Scriptures and ecclesiastical laws, and who had subsequently preferred to return to their civil offices so as not to be deprived of their possessions. The year of his death is unknown.
