NOUVELLE REVUE THÉOLOGIQUE. - Belgian monthly theological review, founded in 1869 and now published under the direction of several theology professors of the Society of Jesus, at Louvain.

Its foundation was due to Canon J. J. Loiseaux (later a Capuchin, under the name of Fr. Piat de Mons), who had already attempted to provide the Belgian clergy with a journal of their own through the Mélanges théologiques (6 vols., 1847–52); after this ceased publication, he continued to implement his idea with the Revue théologique (8 vols., 1856–63), which, after six years, reappeared in 1869 under the title N.
