REVUE NEO-SCHOLASTIC. - A quarterly journal, founded at Louvain in 1894 by the future CardinalDesiré Mercier, and published by the "Société philosophique de Louvain" as the organ of the "School of Philosophy" established in that University at the wish of Leo XIII.
The journal concerns itself with the various special branches of philosophical teaching, and also with the physical, biological, political and social sciences, paying attention to the syntheses they prepare and bringing them alongside traditional doctrines. It therefore aims to be an organ of research and discussion, of documentation and criticism; and furthermore of information, gathering in its chronicles the news of interest to its field and providing a dense bibliographical repertory of the whole of philosophical literature.
Having concluded, with the issue of Aug. 1940-Aug. 1945, vol. XXXIII and fifty years of existence, it continued from 1946 under the new title Revue philosophique de Louvain.
