GENUA, Marc'Antonio, known as Il Genua (Genoa, Zenoa, Janua). - Paduan Averroist, b. toward the end of the 15th century, d. at Padua in 1563. His father Niccolò taught medicine in the same Studium of Padua, where M. A. professed philosophy with great success from 1517 until his death.

He left a commentary on Aristotle's Physica and on the De anima. In the latter he endeavors to demonstrate the perfect agreement, on the question of the unique intellect, between Averroes and Simplicius, whose commentary on the De anima had recently become known.
