PERFICE MUNUS. - Monthly magazine of practical life for the clergy, begun in Turin in 1926 by the publisher Roberto Berruti, under the direction of expert theologians, canonists and liturgists.
It deals with all ecclesiastical subjects that are required knowledge especially for parish priests in the discharge of their duties: acts of the Holy See, pastoral theology, liturgy, canon law, civil law, art, hygiene, sacred music. The manifold subject matter suggested, for 1930, the creation of a supplementary part that would embrace the rubrics of lesser importance, streamlining the main part; thus there came about a second monthly periodical, which made P. M. a fortnightly publication. As of 1939 the supplementary part was replaced by Medicina e morale, likewise monthly; the other rubrics of the supplementary part were brought back into the general part of the periodical. As of 1951, P. M., while remaining fortnightly, is issued in three parts: I. Priestly formation and activity; II. Medicina e morale; III. Aids for pastoral action.
