Review of Christian Archaeology

REVIEW OF CHRISTIAN ARCHAEOLOGY. - After the Nuovo bulletino di archeologia cristiana ceased publication in 1922, the Pontifical Commission of Sacred Archaeology began in 1924 the R. di a. c., intended to contain the reports of excavations carried out by the said Commission and studies in Christian archaeology.

From 1927 through the whole of 1941 the periodical was published under the care of the said Commission and of the Pontifical Institute of Christian Archaeology, with an editorial committee composed of P. Franchi de' Cavalieri, G. P. Kirsch, C. Respighi and A. Silvagni, with G. Belvederi as editorial secretary. From 1942 through the whole of 1946 the R. was published under the care of the said Pontifical Commission and of the Pontifical Institute, with G. Belvederi as secretary, who printed the journal under his own care in the years 1947-48. From 1949 it is published under the care of the Pontifical Commission and of the Pontifical Institute, under the direction of L. de Bruyne and an editorial committee composed of B. M. Apolloni-Ghetti, A. Ferrua, E. Josi, C. Mohlberg, E. Peterson, A. Silvagni. Of particular importance is the bibliography, edited first by G. P. Kirsch and from 1949 by L. de Bruyne.
