Rodolfo de Lango (Longo) Campo

Italian original Cite

RODOLFO DE LANGO (LONGO) CAMPO. - Philosopher, author of a still unpublished commentary on the Anticlaudianus of Alan of Lille (v.), composed in all likelihood around 1216, while R. was teaching at Montpellier, and certainly before 1225.

This commentary is important as a document for demonstrating the penetration of Aristotelianism into the Latin West at the beginning of the 13th century and the influence exercised by the school of Chartres and especially by its last representative, William.
