Rodolfo de Lang (Longo) Campo

RODOLFO de LANGO (LONGO) CAMPO. – Philosopher, author of a still unpublished commentary on Alain of Lille’s Anticlaudianus (v.), probably composed around 1216, while R. was teaching at Montpellier, and certainly before 1225.

This commentary is important as evidence demonstrating the penetration of Aristotelianism into the Latin West at the beginning of the 13th century and the influence exerted by the school of Chartres, especially by its last representative, Guglielmo.
