SOCIETY OF SAINT COLUMBAN FOR THE CHINESE MISSIONS

SOCIETY OF SAINT JOSEPH OF MILL HILL FOR FOREIGN MISSIONS

Initiated on 19 March 1866 VAUGHAN, HERBERT (v.) at Mill Hill near London, with the purpose of training priests for the missions.

The first missionaries departed on 17 November 1871. It is a Society without vows, whose members are bound by oath and devote themselves to foreign missions.
