SOCIETY FOR FOREIGN MISSIONS OF QUÉBEC. — It was founded on 2 February 1921 by the episcopate of the province of Québec.
It is a non-cloistered society with the purpose of sending its members on mission. On 25 July 1929 the Sacred Congregation for the Propagation of the Faith approved its Constitutions for seven years. At the General Chapter of 1948 many modifications were introduced into them, which were approved by the Sacred Congregation on 8 June 1949. It currently has 152 priests and maintains missions in Manchuria, Japan, the Philippine Islands, and Cuba.
