THEOLOGIE UND GLAUBE. - A journal founded in 1909 as a scientific theological periodical for the Catholic clergy.
Its aim is to help the clergy maintain close contact with theological science and to become familiar with its tasks and aims, trends and controversies, progress and achievements. It therefore strives to combine depth with clarity of exposition, to follow the most reliable opinions in explaining important questions, to exercise moderation in examining new research, and to remain on the ground of reality, carefully noting the element of truth that may also be found in error. In particular, the periodical offers the clergy, and also educated laypersons interested in theological questions, the findings of positive and speculative theology, and initiatives in the fields of pastoral theology, homiletics, and catechetics.
T. u. G. appears bimonthly in 2,000 copies; its editors are the professors of the Archiepiscopal Philosophical-Theological Academy of Paderborn; its director is Prof. Eduard Stakemeier.
