Its aim is to assist the clergy in maintaining close contact with theological science and in becoming familiar with its tasks and purposes, trends and struggles, progress and achievements. It therefore strives to combine depth with clarity of exposition, to follow the most reliable opinions in the explanation of important questions, to exercise moderation in examining new research, and to remain grounded in reality, carefully highlighting the elements of truth that may be found even in error. In particular, the periodical offers to the clergy, and also to educated laypeople interested in theological questions, the data of positive and speculative theology, as well as initiatives in the fields of pastoral theology, homiletics, and catechetics.
