Baptist Hirscher, Joh. Adam Möhler, Joh. Georg Herbst.
In its 132 years of existence, every significant movement, event, or publication in the field of Catholic science and life has received more or less detailed mention in its pages. Nor have other sciences been neglected; indeed, much of its work is devoted to presenting, evaluating, and distinguishing the findings of various disciplines. The distinctive feature of the T. Q. lies above all in the organic union of speculative and historical method in theology, in acute observation of modern currents of thought, and in the use of new philosophy for theology under the guidance of the Church. Since 1939, the director of the periodical has been Franz Xaver Arnold.
