ADAMO di AROGNO. — An architect active in the first decades of the 13th century. Documents mention him as superintendent of the construction of Trento Cathedral. Although remaining fully within the Lombard-Romanesque tradition, he was influenced by the Gothic style, which he welcomed and assimilated. The portal with lion-bearing columns at S. Apollinare in Trento and that of the parish church of Bolzano are also considered to be his work.
