ALBERICI, GIACOMO. — An Augustinian, born at Sarnico (Bergamo) in an unspecified year, died in Rome, in the convent of S. Maria del Popolo, in 1610. He entered the Order in 1570, and distinguished himself therein for his gifts of governance, rising from prior of various convents to procurator and then vicar general of all the Hermits of s. Agostino. He published seven works, among which worthy of mention are a history and a historical compendium of the church of S. Maria del Popolo in Rome, the lives of the blessed Nicola da Tolentino and the blessed Chiara di Montefalco, and a Catalogo breve degli illustrissimi scrittori venetiani, dedicated to Doge Marino Grimani, published
in Bologna in 1605.
