ANATOLIUS, bishop of BEREA. — Priest of the diocese of Chalcis, he succeeded Meletius as bishop of Berea (Syria) when the latter moved to the see of Antioch. At the synod of Antioch (363) he was among the bishops who sought to reconcile the Eustathians and the Meletians, and he subscribed to the synodal letter of the Emperor Jovian.
