ANATOLIUS, bishop of BEREA. — A priest of the diocese of Chalcis, he succeeded Meletius as bishop of Berea (Syria), when the latter transferred to the see of Antioch. At the Synod of Antioch (363), he was among the bishops who sought to unite the Eustathians and Meletians, and he subscribed to the synodal letter of the emperor Jovian.
