ANDREW OF PERUGIA. - Franciscan missionary. The dates of his birth and death (1330?) are uncertain. Appointed suffragan of the archiepiscopal see of Khambalicq (Peking) by Clement V and consecrated bishop, he undertook the journey to China in 1307. He resided for some years in the capital, then moved to Zaitun, where, in the vicinity of that city, he built a church and a convent for twenty friars. A letter written by him to the guardian of the convent of Perugia in 1326 has come down to us.
