ANDREA da Perugia. - Franciscan missionary. The dates of his birth and death are uncertain (c. 1330?). Appointed suffragan bishop of the archiepiscopal see of Khambalicq (Peking) by Clement V and consecrated bishop, he set out for China in 1307. He spent several years in the capital, then moved to Zaitun, where, near that city, he built a church and a convent for twenty friars. A letter written by him to the guardian of the convent in Perugia in 1326 has come down to us.
