ASSIS, DIOCESE of. — In the State of S. Paolo (Brazil), a suffragan of S. Paolo, erected on 30 November 1928 with thirteen parishes from the diocese of Botucatu. The Cathedral is dedicated to the Sacred Heart and to s. Francesco d'Assisi. Its territory is almost completely surrounded by rivers. It has 27 parishes, 13 diocesan priests, and 14 religious priests.
