BACCINI, IDA. - Born in Firenze in 1850 and died there in 1911, she was a prolific and highly regarded writer, whose work is pervaded by goodness, sincerity, and freshness. Her books won the greatest approval among the boys and girls of her time.

B. wrote: Le memorie di un pulcino, Il libro delle novelle, Angeli del cielo e angeli della terra, Per le veglie invernali, Storie allegre e storie mette. Interesting and instructive is the book entitled Piccoli viaggiatori, a journey to China, which collects the letters, rich in marvels through their descriptions of the places visited, that two children send to their mother during a journey from Firenze to Livorno and Singapore, calling at Messina, Aden, and Ceylon on the way.
