Benepiacitum Apostolicum

BENEPLACITUM APOSTOLICUM

BENEPIACITUM APOSTOLICUM. - The consent or approval of the Holy See, called b. a., is required for the validity of certain acts that are contemplated in the CIC.

Thus, for example, the b. a. is necessary to remove the irremovability of the parish priest in parishes established with such a right. In tit. XXIX of book III of the CIC the norms are determined that must be observed in the alienation of ecclesiastical goods: can. 1532 requires the b. a. (cf. can. 2347, no. 3) for the alienation of precious things (artistically, historically, etc.), or of immovable goods whose value exceeds thirty thousand lire or francs; and likewise can. 1541, § 2, no. 1 requires the b. a. for the lease of ecclesiastical goods for more than nine years, when the value of the lease exceeds that figure. (v. also AD BENEPLACITUM NOSTRUM).
