BENEDETTO ANGELO MARIA CANALI. — Servite theologian, d. 1745. He published a *Cursus Philosophicus ad mentem Doctoris solemnis Henrici de Gandavo* (Parma 1715; ibid. 1716), which encountered some difficulties on account of certain anatomical descriptions.
He edited and completed the *Disputationes theologicae, iuxta genuinam Henrici de Gandavo mentem* (Rome 1698, Lucca 1722–24) of Lodigieri. He also supervised the edition of the work *Doctrina catholica de septem Ecclesiae Sacramentis* (Venice 1734) by Fr. Castelli, a Servite (d. 1715). C. also wrote some historical studies concerning his Order.
