Carmelo Apostolic Sisters — Congregation founded in France at Bayonne in 1868. In 1870 it sent a first group of sisters to Mangalore (India). After the house at Bayonne was closed in 1873, the new congregation developed in India, dedicating itself to the education of girls in numerous schools opened in various dioceses. The motherhouse is at Mangalore and depends on the Sacred Congregation for the Propagation of the Faith.
