Sisters of the Apostolic Carmel

CARMELO APOSTOLICO, SUORE del. — Congregation founded in France, at Bayonne, in 1868. In 1870 it sent a first group of sisters to Mangalore (India). After the Bayonne house was closed in 1873, the new Congregation developed in India, devoting itself to the education of girls in numerous schools opened in various dioceses. The mother house is in Mangalore and depends on Propaganda Fide.
