CATHOLIC TRUTH SOCIETY. – It is an association of laypeople and priests devoted to promoting the Catholic press among the faithful and making the faith and practice of our religion known to Protestants. It originated in England in 1884, chiefly through the initiative of Cardinal H. Vaughan and James Britten.
Its publications, sold at minimal prices, have always enjoyed great success and, in a simple and clear form, deal with questions concerning the various parts of Catholic doctrine. In addition to England, it is flourishing throughout all the other English-speaking nations.
