CATHOLIC TRUTH SOCIETY. - It is an association of laypeople and priests for promoting the Catholic press among the faithful and for making known to Protestants the faith and practice of our religion. It originated in 1884 in England, especially through the initiative of Cardinal H. Vaughan and of James Britten.

Its publications, sold at very low prices, have always enjoyed great success and, in a simple and clear form, treat questions concerning the various parts of Catholic doctrine. It is in full development not only in England but in all the other English-speaking nations.
