CEVAKINSKY, SAVVA. – Russian architect, b. in 1733, d. in 1783. He trained at the school of Bartolomeo Francesco Rastrelli, adapting the grandeur and richness of Rastrelli’s constructions to his own brilliant talent. He built the Cathedral of St. Nicholas in Petersburg. He was one of the disseminators of Western art and culture in Russia.
