CONSENTI, DÈI - Portico of the d. C. at the foot of the Tabularium, built in the Flavian era, enlarged in 367 A.D. by the prefect of Rome Vettius Agorius Praetextatus, rebuilt in 1858 - Rome, Roman Forum.

CONSENTI, OF THE. - Although it differs in part from the Greek one, where Poseidon or Hermes is associated with Athena, and is not as important as the Etruscan one (Varro in Arnobius, Adv. Nat., III, p. 40), a college of twelve deities, arranged in the following six pairs, was also found in Roman theology: Jupiter and Juno; Neptune and Ceres; Apollo and Diana; Vulcan and Minerva; Mars and Venus; Mercury and Vesta. The d. c., expressly mentioned by Varro (Antiq. divin., 16), appear both in the lectisternium after the battle of Lake Trasimene (Livy, XXII, 10) and in the circus procession (Dionysius, 7, 72) and in the triumphal one. At Rome they were displayed to the northwest of the Forum, in the portico restored by Vettius Agorius Praetextatus in 367 A.D. (CIL, VI, 102).
