CONTI (De Comitibus), Biagio. — Italian theologian and philosopher, b. at Canzo in the Como district in 1636, d. at Prague on 4 Apr. 1685. Having entered the Conventuals at Milan and completed his studies, he was regent of studies at Breslau (c. 1658-59) and at Prague (c. 1665), and at the same time concistorian assessor to the archbishop of Prague, theologian and counsellor to the various archbishops who succeeded one another in that see.
In 1677 he attended to the definitive drafting of his philosophical and theological courses. The latter, published only in part, bears the title: *Theologia scholastica p. Mag. Blasii de Comitibus a Mediolano*, *Pars prima I Sentent., de Deo trino et uno* (Prague 1687); *Pars secunda I Sentent., de intellectu, scientia, providentia, praedestinatione et reprobatione* (ibid. 1687); *Pars prima II Sentent., de creatione, statu innocentiae et angelis* (ibid. 1688).
