CORNELISSE, DOROTEO. – Franciscan theologian, born in Steenbergen (Netherlands) on 21 September 1865, died in Nijmegen on 31 December 1940. He successfully completed his studies at the Athenaeum of Propaganda Fide; then, having returned to his homeland, he taught theology at the convent of Weert until 1903, after which he became professor at the College of St. Anthony in Rome and from 1913 to 1930 at the Lateran Athenaeum. A well-informed theologian, faithful to Scotism, he employed a rigid, almost mathematical method in his teaching. He was a consultor to various Roman Congregations.
He wrote: Tractatus de Deo Uno et Trino (Quaracchi 1913), Tractatus de Ecclesia (manuscript). He reprinted: Ateritiones centum I. Duns Scoti selectae a K. Katzenberger O. F. M. (Quaracchi 1906).
