Cornelisse, Doroteo

CORNELISSE, DOROTEO. - Franciscan theologian, b. at Steenbergen (Holland) on 21 Sept. 1865, d. at Nijmegen on 31 Dec. 1940. He completed his studies successfully at the Athenaeum of Propaganda Fide; then, having returned to his homeland, he taught theology in the convent of Weert until 1903, after which he became professor at the College of St. Anthony in Rome and from 1913 to 1930 at the Lateran Athenaeum. A well-informed theologian, faithful to Scotism, he maintained in his teaching a rigid, almost mathematical method. He was a consultor of various Roman Congregations.

He wrote: Tractatus de Deo Uno et Trino (Quaracchi 1913), Tractatus de Ecclesia (manuscript). He reprinted: Ateritiones centum I. Duns Scoti selectae a K. Katzenberger O. F. M. (Quaracchi 1906).
