CORNELISSE, DOROTHEUS. – Franciscan theologian, born at Steenbergen (Netherlands) on 21 Sept. 1865, died at Nijmegen on 31 Dec. 1940. He completed his studies successfully at the Athenaeum of Propaganda Fide; then, returning to his homeland, he taught theology at the convent of Weert until 1903. He subsequently became professor at the College of St. Anthony in Rome and from 1913 to 1930 at the Lateran Athenaeum. A well-informed theologian, faithful to Scotism, he maintained a rigorous, almost mathematical method in his teaching. He served as a consultor to various Roman Congregations.
He wrote: *Tractatus de Deo Uno et Trino* (Quaracchi 1913), *Tractatus de Ecclesia* (manuscript). He reprinted: *Assertiones centum I. Duns Scoti selectae a K. Katzenberger O. F. M.* (Quaracchi 1906).
