DALLER, BALTHASAR. – Bavarian priest and politician, born on 22 January 1835 at Gasteig, died on 3 March 1911 at Freising.
Ordained a priest in 1861, he subsequently became professor of ecclesiastical law and Church history at the Realgymnasium of Freising. From February 1871 until his death he was a deputy in the Bavarian Diet. Founder of the Bavarian Patriotic Party (Bayerische patriotische Partei), he sought the harmonious collaboration of State and Church, especially in the matter of education, and the safeguarding of Bavaria’s rights within the German Empire.
