DE BLIC, JACQUES. — Jesuit, theologian, born in Pommard (Côte-d'Or) on 5 May 1887, died in Strasbourg on 19 July 1948. He was first professor of moral theology at Vala (1923); then, at the beginning of the war, at the seminary of Soissons; subsequently, for several months (1942), at the Catholic Institute of Paris; from there, in the same year, he moved to the Faculty of Theology of Lille.
He founded the Faculty’s periodical, Mélanges de science religieuse (from 1944), with the aim of making a substantial scholarly contribution to the advancement of Christian culture in the fields of religious philosophy, moral theology, and theology properly so called. He himself published numerous articles in it; he also contributed others to various periodicals and dictionaries of advanced religious scholarship.
