DE BLIC, JACQUES. - Jesuit, theologian, b. at Pommard (Côte-d'Or) on 5 May 1887, d. at Strasbourg on 19 July 1948. He was professor of moral theology first at Vala (1923); then, at the beginning of the war, at the seminary of Soissons; then, for a few months (1942), at the Institut Catholique of Paris; whence in the same year he moved to the Faculty of Theology of Lille.
He founded the Faculty's periodical, Mélanges de science religieuse (from 1944), with the aim of making a valuable scientific contribution to the progress of Christian culture in the field of religious philosophy, of moral theology and of theology properly so called. He himself published numerous articles there; others he scattered among various periodicals and dictionaries of advanced religious culture.
