DE RUBÉIS (De Rossi), Bernardo Maria. - Dominican historian and theologian, b. at Cividale del Friuli on 8 January 1687, d. at Venice on 28 January 1775. He spent several years in teaching and in the two-year terms 1733-35 and 1753-55 governed his religious province as vicar general. The fruit of his erudite research was the publication of about thirty works; however, the greater part of the rich materials he collected remains unpublished at the Marciana in Venice.

Noteworthy: De gestis et scriptis ac doctrina s. Thomae Aq. (Venice 1750): these are 30 critical and apologetic dissertations, today included in the Leonine edition of the works of St. Thomas (I, Rome 1882, pp. XLV-CCCXLVI); Monumenta Ecclesiae Aquilejensis commentario illustrata (Strasbourg 1740); De rebus Congregationis sub titulo b. Jacobi Salomonii (Venice 1751).
