DIPLOVATACCIO, TOMMASO. - Jurist, b. in Corfu in 1468 and d. in Pesaro on 29 May 1541. He devoted himself to the study of law at various universities in Italy, taking his degree at Bologna.

Esteemed for his vast culture, he was called to occupy public offices: in Pesaro he was fiscal advocate in the tribunal (1494) and later (1532) gonfalonier; for some years he taught law in Venice. He wrote: De praestantia doctorum in twelve books: the ninth is important, treating with diligence the life and works of legislators and jurists. It was discovered in 1748 and published in 1890 under the editorship of Pescatore.
