DIVUS THOMAS. - Journal of philosophy and theology published in Piacenza under the care of the professors of the Collegio Alberoni, Vincentians. It was founded in 1880, chiefly through the work of Prof. Alb. Barberis, C.M., in order to second the impulse given by Leo XIII to Thomistic studies with the encyclical Aeterni Patris.

Until 1899 it appeared in monthly fascicles of 16 pages in 4to. In 1900 it reduced the format to 8vo, broadened its program and became bimonthly. In 1924 it resumed publication, which had been suspended in 1906, beginning a third series. In its more than fifty years of life, the D. T. has made a good contribution to Thomistic studies and to sacred studies in general, obtaining the collaboration of distinguished Italian and foreign scholars. Edited at first in Latin, it later admitted modern languages as well. Each fascicle contains original articles, notes and discussions on particular points, reports on questions of current interest, reviews of recent works, a survey of kindred journals and news items. The publication is appreciated and circulated in Italy and abroad.
