DOMINICI, Domenico, bishop. — Born in Venice in 1416, he was already teaching philosophy at Padua in 1437; summoned to Rome by Eugenius IV, he was later appointed bishop of Torcello by Nicholas V on 20 February 1448. A good humanist, he delivered the address to the cardinals for the conclaves of 1458 and 1464. At the invitation of Pius II he drew up a plan for reforming the Roman Curia; Paul II transferred him to the see of Brescia on 14 November 1464 and entrusted him with the address for the peace of 1468. He died at Brescia on 17 February 1478.
