FIGLI DELLA CARITÀ D'ISSY. — Congregation founded in Paris in 1918 by Fr. Jean-Emil Anizan (b. 1853, d. 1928) for the evangelization of the working classes and the exercise of ministry in the poorest and most working-class parishes, thereby reconciling religious life with parish requirements. Approved by the Holy See in 1934, the Institute currently has 176 professed religious in 23 parishes in France and one in Morocco. Its center, the Union des Oeuvres, is in Paris.
