SONS OF THE CHARITY OF ISSY. - Congregation founded in Paris in 1918 by Fr. Jean-Emil Anizan (b. 1853, d. 1928) for the evangelization of the working classes, for the exercise of the ministry in the poorest and working-class parishes, bringing about the union of religious life with parochial requirements. Approved by the Holy See in 1934, the Institute currently numbers 176 professed religious in 23 parishes in France and one in Morocco. In Paris it has the center of the Union des Oeuvres.
